Lais in Hades.png

Originally uploaded to Wikipedia with the description "Erotic image, Lais in Hades (1902, Gustave Cortos, print by Luis Falero), from private collection offered for sale online." Actual creator and date unknown. However, the figures in the background seem to be Dante and Virgil in the same costumes as in Gustave Courtois' File:Dante_et_Virgile.jpg, so this is likely to be another scene from Dante's Divine Comedy — possibly the courtesan Thaïs in Inferno XVIII, but in that case we'd expect to see a river of excrement somewhere in the scene. (Luis Falero, meanwhile, died in 1896.)
