This is great for styles of lighting and having the ability to selectively modify what parts of the image you wish lit. However, this kind of light is almost always bright and dynamic and its very easy to see if the image has been falsely lit. Its very unusual to see a studio lit image appear natural. There is a way that this can done though. When shooting into light, the effect is a soft, natural looking diffused light which causes lower contrast and a more sunlit style of image. The light in question has to be in shot, so that the light directly hits the camera sensor. In the image here, the light is right of shot and aimed directly at me.
