Stehendes Modell vor Staffelei by Aimé Barraud (2).jpg

In this painting, a woman examines her own, unclothed image on the canvas. With her gaze lowered, she turns slightly to the side and holds her hands protectively in front of her. Despite the otherwise empty room and the intimacy-creating screen that forms the background of the composition, the model seems to sense the viewer's voyeuristic gaze on her body.
